December 10, 2007

On this date in 1906, Theodore "Delano" Roosevelt became the first American to win the Nobel Prize. This was, of course, back when they still gave out the Nobel Prize for Hunting Big Game.

Upon receiving the prize, Roosevelt was heard to shout "BULLY!" and then he tossed it high into the air. When the prize reached the peak of its foreshortened parabola, Roosevelt pumped it full of buckshot, according to the local custom.

Oh, also, it's Human Rights Day. So I believe I speak for everyone here when I say LET MY PEOPLE GO!
